Mock Meet Wrap-Up & Important Game Plans for the Season! 🌊

Dear Hammerheads Parents,

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who came out for our Mock Meet on Tuesday! It was fantastic to see the kids back in the pool, shaking off the rust, and showing off that Hammerheads spirit.

Mock meets are the perfect time to practice, learn, and figure out what we need to fine-tune before the real competition begins. To make sure our upcoming swim meets run like a well-oiled machine, we have a few important observations, rule reminders, and expectations moving forward. We want the kids to have an absolute blast, but we also need to keep things organized and compliant with league rules!

Please take a few minutes to review these key guidelines with your swimmers:

⏱️ Kid Pushers & Meet Timing

  • Relay Ready: Kid pushers, please ensure all relay swimmers are moved over to their blocks before the National Anthem. Timing is everything, and we want to start the meet sharp!
  • Volunteer Meeting: We will be holding a mandatory Kid Pushers volunteer meeting during the pre-meet activities. Keep an ear out for the announcement so we can get everyone aligned.

πŸ“‹ Deck Changes & Attendance

  • Minimize Changes: Making last-minute adjustments on the pool deck causes major delays. Please help us in keeping these to a minimum.
  • The Deadline: It is crucial that you declare whether or not your swimmer is attending the upcoming meet by Thursday evening.

🚫 6 & Unders: Watch the Finish Line!

  • Hands Off Until the Touch: "Kid Catchers" at the end of the lane cannot reach under or over the finish line. You must wait for the swimmer to officially cross the line on their own before catching them.
  • Important Note: Reaching in early will result in an automatic Disqualification (DQ) for the swimmer. Let's make sure their hard work counts!

🏊 Relays & Swimmer Expectations

  • No Day-Of Requests: We will absolutely NOT accept any relay requests on the day of the meet.
  • Coaching Deadline: If your swimmer has a request to swim a specific leg or stroke, this must be submitted to the coaches by Thursday. No exceptions will be made.
  • Cheer, but Clear the Way: Once a swimmer completes their leg of a relay, we want them cheering their hearts out! However, they must stay out of the way of teammates who haven't swum yet, as well as our competitors.

Thank you all for your cooperation, your energy, and your dedication to making this a phenomenal season for the Hammerheads. Let’s bring the energy this week!

Best regards,

--
